Patrick Schmitt, born in 1992, completed his Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering and his Master's degree in Embedded Systems at the Technikum Wien University of Applied Sciences. During his studies, he worked as a full-time employee at Liebherr in Korneuburg, where he was involved in verifying and debugging CPLD designs.

Since 2015, he has been affiliated with the Technikum Wien University of Applied Sciences. He serves as a Lecturer for multiple Bachelor's courses and as a supervisor for both Bachelor's and Master's theses. Additionally, he holds the position of Deputy Program Director of the Bachelor's program in Information & Communication Systems & Services and engages as a Researcher in industry-funded research projects. In 2023, he commenced a research collaboration with Infineon Austria AG on the topic of 'Contactless Heart Rate Measurement'.
